Qualcomm Officially Unveils its Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 Chipset: 7% Improved CPU Performance and 7% Improved Graphic Rendering

A year after announcing its Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip, the American semi-conductor maker – Qualcomm has now officially unveiled the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset as its successor. This latest generation chip is revealed to offer boosted performance and will be able to carry out gaming, AI, camera, and other tasks – in a faster, smoother, and in a more impactful way.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 – Officially Unveiled
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip has been introduced with Kryo CPU architecture (1x Cortex A720 @2.7GHz + 3x Cortex A720 @2.4GHz + 4 Cortex A520 @1.8GHz ) featuring a 64-bit architecture and up to 2.7GHz clock speed, as well as with the Adreno GPU with support for OpenCL 2.0 FP, OpenGL ES 3.2, and Vulkan 1.3 APIs. Together, the latest Qualcomm chip offers 7% improved performance and 7% faster graphic rendering. Additionally, the Qualcomm AI Engine also ensures on-device Gen AI support, along with the Qualcomm Sensing Hub that has a lower power AI system.
On the gaming side, an immersive gaming experience is guaranteed with select Snapdragon Elite gaming features, while the Adaptive Frame Motion Engine 3.0 helps in maximizing both the gaming performance and speed. Moreover, the Snapdragon Game Super Resolution, without causing any battery drains, will also be helping in upscaling game scenes to up to 4K resolution.
About the camera specs, capturing from the three cameras is made possible with Qualcomm’s Spectra Triple ISP (21MP, 32+21MP, 64MP, 200MP). AI Remosaic for capturing sharp and high resolution photos; Computational 4K HDR Video Capture for producing photo with good contrast, sharpness, peak brightness, and Blacks; and Video Super Resolution offering sharp and clear footage (4k@30fps, slo-mo 1080p@120fps) are other camera capabilities.
Regarding its connectivity aspects, FastConnect with WiFi 6 and WiFi 6E system support will be able to deliver up to 2.9 Gbps of speed. For mobile network connectivity, the Snapdragon 5G Modem-RF System is equipped, with the capability of offering up to 2.9 Gbps of peak download speed. Also, a Bluetooth connectivity of version 5.4 is supported, along with Bluetooth Low Energy Audio.
Other specs and features include the support for Snapdragon Suite Technology Suite, Spatial Audio, Qualcomm Aqstic Speaker Max Technology, and L1/L5/L2 triple frequency. Qualcomm Location Suite (Beidou, Galileo, GLONASS, GPS, NavIC, QZSS), NFC, FHD+ @144Hz display, Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology, LPDDR5 RAM (3200 MHz), UFS 3.1, and USB 3.1 connectivity (type-C) are its further specs.
