Xbox PC App Gets Major July 2025 Update: Stream Your Owned Games Instantly, Enjoy Expanded Cloud Features and New Accessibility Upgrades
Xbox has announced its July update, bringing new features to the Xbox PC app aimed at providing more flexibility and convenience for gamers. Now, players with Game Pass Ultimate can start and play these games from their personal library without needing extra downloads or purchases. This feature also extends support for console-only games that were previously unavailable on PC, allowing users to play instantly from the Cloud Gaming section of the app.

Xbox continues to expand the Play Anywhere program, which now supports over 1,000 games that can be played on PC, console, and handheld devices. Newly added retro and popular titles further broaden the streaming catalog. The update also introduces better accessibility tags, new dynamic console backgrounds, and support for mouse, keyboard, and touch controls on a growing list of games. Xbox is continuing to add more games to the “Stream your own game” collection for Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta). Game Pass Ultimate members can stream from a library of over 250+ cloud-playable games they own on supported devices, such as Assassin’s Creed Unity and PGA Tour 2K25.

There is no additional cost for using these new streaming features for Game Pass Ultimate members, but membership is necessary. Availability is limited only to the 28 countries where Xbox Cloud Gaming is supported. The new features and upgrades are now accessible via the upgraded Xbox PC software. Xbox encourages players to join the Insider Program to gain early access to upcoming features.
