PUBG announces new changes to Ranked Mode that will arrive with Update 36.1

Those who play PUBG, very well know that Ranked Mode is an important part of the PUBG experience. Last year the company introduced some new upgrades for Ranked Mode like changes to the RP system, introduction of Tier Protection and improved rewards.

Ranked Mode will be getting some more changes in Update 36.1, as officially announced by PUBG.

New changes to Ranked Mode

Unifying the Core Gameplay Experience

Until now, the differences between maps and the gap between Normal Match and Ranked have often required players a lot of time simply adjusting to new rules. Players who settled into PUBG through Normal Mode often found it difficult to transition into the more intense environment of Ranked. With Update 36.1, the gap between Normal Match and Ranked will be narrowed. It is expected that this change will bring a refreshing shift in Ranked as it will allow for more variety in situations and playstyles, moving away from stale and rigid patterns.

The System Updates and Reward Enhancements

To help players feel the thrill of climbing through the ranks more frequently and clearly, the number of divisions is now reduced while more tiers are added. This means the five existing divisions will be reduced to four, and two new tiers will be introduced.

A new tier called Crystal will be added between Platinum and Diamond, while the existing Top 500 will be removed, and a new highest tier called Survivor will be introduced. It is said that only a very small number of players will be able to reach the Survivor tier, making it the ultimate symbol of PUBG’s highest skill level. With Update 36.1, players will be able to see both their current season tier and their highest tier from the previous season directly in the lobby.

Additionally, the parachute skin is returning as a Tier Reward, and Ranked Play Point Rewards are being updated to feel more useful and rewarding than before.

Duo Ranked Added for All Regions

In Update 36.1, Duo Ranked mode is introduced to all regions. Compared to Squad, Duos offer a lower barrier to entry and make it easier to jump in with a friend or teammate. In addition, Solo Ranked will be removed from the AS region.

RP Unification

Starting with this update, ranked tiers and RP will be unified across party types (Duo/Squad) and perspectives (FPP/TPP). So now, no matter how or where you play during the season, you will be working toward a single, shared goal with everyone else. To support this RP unification, all players’ RP will be reset to 1500 at the start of Update 36.1.

Soon, PUBG will be releasing 36.1 Patch Notes to reveal detailed information on what new changes and improvements this update will come with.
