PS5 Beta Update Adds Multi-Device Pairing for DualSense Controller

Sony has released a new PS5 system update beta. This update includes multi-device pairing for the DualSense and DualSense Edge wireless controllers. The update is currently available to selected beta participants in certain countries, enabling players to register and swap their controllers between up to four different devices, such as a PS5, PC, or smartphone, without having to re-pair them.
Previously, connecting the DualSense controller to a new device required a new pairing process. With this update, users can now assign devices to specific slots by holding the PS button and one of the action buttons. Once set up, switching between paired devices is as simple as pressing the corresponding button combination. This feature aims to make switching between gaming setups easier.

Sony also updated a new “Power Saver for Games” option, which is designed to help supported PS5 games run more efficiently. This feature is not accessible during the beta period and will be detailed further once it becomes publicly available. It is part of Sony’s environmental efforts to attain net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.
For now, the beta is only available via invitation, with Sony planning to roll it out globally in the following months. Some features in the beta may change or not appear in the final release. Beta participants will receive email invitations starting today, in U.S., Canada, Japan, U.K., Germany and France.
