Assassin’s Creed Shadows Rolls Out New Game Plus, Level Cap Boost, and Free Story Expansion This Summer

Ubisoft has announced the summer update plans for Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, which will include a set of new features and expansions for players starting July 29, 2025. The most notable feature is the New Game Plus option, as well as an increase in the level cap and other gameplay enhancements.
The New Game Plus mode becomes available to players after finishing the main story. When activated, it resets story and map progression but allows retention of character level, gear, skill points, and hideout upgrades. Players can resume from the beginning or after the prologue, skipping the initial tutorials, and can replay with all previously earned abilities and items. Alongside this, the level cap is rising from 60 to 80, accompanied by the introduction of new Knowledge Ranks, Mastery skills, hideout building upgrades, and enhancements to the Forge system.

Previously, Ubisoft released features including collaborations with Dead by Daylight, new allies, Parkour improvements, and the severe Nightmare mode. This includes improved map unfogging, a time-skip tool for adjusting the in-game clock, uncapped frame rates on PC, and enhancements to the Hideout and item rarity systems. On September 16, the Claws of Awaji expansion will launch, introducing a new region, additional storyline content estimated at over ten hours, and new weapons, abilities, and enemies. These updates and expansion features will be available to all Assassin’s Creed Shadows players starting on July 29.
