Valve officially unveils Steam Machine; Launching in 2026

Yesterday, Valve Corporation officially unveiled its all-new Steam Machine that is designed to play PC games in your living room. It blends console convenience with PC- grade performance.

Here are the details

Steam Machine: Features

With over six times the horsepower of the Steam Deck, the Steam Machine is claimed to have the power to play your whole Steam library, including some popular AAA titles. It runs on SteamOS, which is optimized for gaming with fast suspend/resume and cloud saves. It comes in a roughly 6-inch cube that can be easily placed under your TV or set on your desk.

It keeps cool and runs whisper-quiet. It includes 1 Gigabit Ethernet, DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, USB-C port, and 4xUSB-A ports. The Steam Machine provides 4K gaming at 60 FPS with FSR due to its discrete semi-custom AMD desktop-class CPU and GPU. It will be available in two storage sizes: 512GB and 2TB, and comes with an expandable storage option via microSD.

The device supports 2×2 WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 with a dedicated antenna. Meanwhile, the Steam Controller’s wireless adapter is built right into the Steam Machine for direct pairing. Its power supply is built right in the machine. There is a customizable LED strip. It is optimized for gaming, but you can still install your own apps or even another OS. It is claimed to be a perfect host for streaming to other devices like Steam Deck, Steam Fame, or any other device running Steam or Steam Link.

Steam Machine will be launching in 2026, but the exact launch date is not yet specified.
