Xiaomi Pad Mini with Metal Unibody Design, Dimensity 9400+ SoC, 7,500mAh Battery, and 18W Reverse Charging Launched

Xiaomi has expanded its global lineup today with the launch of several new gadgets, including the Xiaomi 15T Series. Alongside the 15T Series, Xiaomi has also launched the Xiaomi Pad Mini, featuring a metal unibody design finished with ceramic sandblasting for a refined gloss and a soft matte texture.

Xiaomi Pad Mini Specs and Features

It sports an 8.8-inch 3K display with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 165Hz, a touch sampling rate of 372Hz, and an instant touch sampling rate of 1080Hz, while pen input reaches up to 240Hz. With a peak brightness of 700 nits (HBM), the screen also supports TÜV Rheinland certifications for Low Blue Light (Hardware Solution), Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly usage. Additional features include HDR10, Dolby Vision®, DCI-P3 colour gamut, 68.7 billion colours, adaptive colours, sunlight mode, original colour PRO, reading mode, wet touch technology, and Xiaomi’s AI image engine.

It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset built on a 3nm process, paired with the Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU and an NPU 890 for advanced AI capabilities. The Xiaomi Pad Mini features up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage. Running on Xiaomi HyperOS 2 (based on Android 15), the Pad Mini is also enhanced with Xiaomi HyperAI tools such as AI Writing, AI Speech Recognition, AI Interpreter, AI Art, and AI Calculator, alongside Google Gemini integration and Circle to Search with Google.

Regarding the camera, the rear houses a single 13MP camera sensor, while the front has an 8MP selfie shooter. It packs a 7500mAh (typical) battery that supports 67W HyperCharge fast charging, along with 18W wired reverse charging (which works when it is charged at least 70%). It comes with dual USB Type-C ports, where the long side supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 (up to 5Gbps data transfer and DP1.4 screen projection), while the short side supports USB 2.0 data transmission in host mode for peripherals such as mice or flash drives.

In terms of connectivity, the tablet supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi Direct, Miracast, dual-band (2.4GHz/5GHz) and tri-band concurrency, with codecs such as AAC, LDAC, LHDC 5.0, LC3, ASHA, and Auracast. Sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, front ambient light (with colour temperature), hall sensor, magnetic sensor, proximity sensor, and an X-axis linear motor.

It is equipped with dual stereo speakers supporting Dolby Atmos®, Hi-Res, and Hi-Res Wireless Audio. It also supports the Xiaomi Focus Pen, which offers millisecond-level latency and a 240Hz touch sampling rate for improved precision. In addition, a dedicated cover accessory with a leather-like finish and a reinforced wristband is available.

Pricing and Availability

It has been launched in two colour options: purple and gray, and comes in two memory options. The first one is 8GB+256GB, and the other is 12GB+512GB. In the press release, it is mentioned that the base variant is priced at $429 USD, while on Xiaomi’s UAE website, the 12GB variant is listed at AED 1599 (roughly $435 USD). Along with this, the Xiaomi Pad Mini cover in white is listed on Xiaomi’s UAE website for AED 49 (roughly $13.34).
