Recently, Xiaomi had teased the launch of a new device, which was initially mistaken for an upcoming laptop. However, a few tipsters later revealed that it is actually the Xiaomi Pad 8. Now, putting all speculation to rest, it has officially been confirmed that the Xiaomi Pad 8 is indeed launching in India — but not alongside the Xiaomi 17 series.

Xiaomi Pad 8 India Launch Confirmed
The poster hosted on Amazon India carries the same tagline, “Future of Computing”, which was earlier teased by Xiaomi India’s X handle. Upon clicking the poster on Amazon India, it does not take users to the Xiaomi Pad 8 microsite. Instead, it redirects to another tablet by a different company. The poster also confirms that the device will come with a floating keyboard.
While the global audience will witness the Xiaomi Pad 8 series launch alongside the Xiaomi 17 series and other gadgets, the India launch, as per the poster, has been scheduled for next month, 12th March 2026. The Xiaomi 17 series, on the other hand, will launch in India on 28th February, alongside its global debut.
Both the global and Indian variants are expected to share the same specifications as the Xiaomi Pad 8 launched in China. This means it will feature an 11.2″ 3.2K resolution display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 345ppi screen density, 800 nits peak brightness, full DC dimming, and TÜV Rheinland triple eye protection certification.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Pad 8 (China) is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC, paired with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. The tablet comes with quad speakers supporting Dolby Atmos. It also supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, and features a USB Type-C port along with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Other key features include a 9,200mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. The device measures 5.75mm in thickness and weighs 485g.
