Check out more about it below.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra – More Details Revealed

Xiaomi’s 17 Ultra smartphone, unlike its predecessors, will be replacing the quad camera system for a triple camera system at its rear, and it is said to feature a new 50MP main camera (1-inch), new 200MP telephoto camera (35% larger than before), and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. The 3rd-gen LOFIC technology will also be a part of the device. For selfies, a 50MP front-facing camera will also be equipped within the device. Leica’s camera branding and two LED flashlights can also be spotted within the camera module of the latest device. On the performance side, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip will power the device, and it will be running on the Android 16-based Xiaomi HyperOS 3 custom skin.

As per what Lu Weibing has shared, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will bring major camera upgrades, and its telephoto camera lens is going to be Leica APO-certified. To note, while the price of this telephoto camera will be 2x more than the telephoto camera given on the previous Xiaomi 15 Ultra, thanks to the new telephoto camera, Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be delivering minimum Purple/Green fringing, as well as sharper images with better optical accuracy. The same can also be expected at high zoom levels too. Cleaner edges, true colors, and higher image quality are also further specs that can be expected on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra with the APO -certified optics. 10x more dynamic range support is there on the main camera, and a camera sample has been shared.

Speaking more, the increased memory costs, along with the higher costs of the processor and cameras, are contributing factors which will bring up the price of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra flagship, however Lu Weibing claims that the device will be an excellent value for money product.

Smaller circular rear camera module, two rounded volume keys, lighter and thinner design (77.6mm width, 8.0mm thickness,), improved battery (6,000mAh ~ 7,000mAh battery range), 100W wired charging support (via 3C), Leica tele-convertor camera kit, and more are also other expected specs of the smartphone device.

Regarding the launch, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphone will be debuting this week in China, and the launch date is expected to be on the 25th of December 2025. Alongside the flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi Buds 6 and Xiaomi Watch are also believed to break their covers on the same day.
