Xiaomi 17 Series Powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Processor Officially Introduced in China: Pre-Sale Now Live

At its recently-held launch conference, Xiaomi’s 17 series consisting of the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max smartphone models have been introduced in the Chinese market. These latest flagships are now put up for pre-sale, and their official sale will be going live tomorrow.

Xiaomi 17

The Xiaomi 17 smartphone has been teased with the tagline – ‘small-sized all-round technology flagship’, and it features an exquisite texture and good feel. A 19:6:9 ratio with an extra-large R-angle design and a four-slightly-curved-wrapping middle frame are also part of the device, and it is 8.06mm thin and weighs 191gm. An IP68-rated dust and water protection is also being offered. For its display, a 6.3″ ultra-narrow equilateral super-sunlight display screen is given, and it supports a 3500 nits multi-scene peak brightness rate. Also, a new Red luminous main material is used within its display.

As mentioned, the device equips Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset (3nm) with an all-big-core CPU architecture, and it packs a 7000 mAh large battery backup. Notably, 100W wired + 50W wireless fast charging support has been given on the device. Furthermore, the Android 16-based Xiaomi HyperOS 3 custom skin ensures smooth experience, smooth cross-ecological interconnection, and more convenient functions and AI capabilities.

On the camera side, a 50MP Leica professional triple camera system is there on the device, with five focal lengths and wide aperture (0.7X – f/2.4, 1X – f/1.67, 2X – f/1.67, 2.6X – f/2.0, 5X – f/2.0). Leica Optics Summilux High-Speed Lenses with a Light Hunter 950 image sensor and new generation Leica optical G+P lens group are also among its key camera specs. At the front within a centrally-placed punch-hole unit, a 50MP ultra-sensitive selfie camera is also equipped, and it supports auto focus and f/2.2 large aperture. Advanced portrait capability is also supported on the device.

Coming to its pricing and availability details, three storage options of 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, and 16GB/512GB are offered for this latest flagship, and they are respectively priced at CNY 4499, CNY 4799, and CNY 4999. Chinese customers can also get the device in four color choices of Ice Melt Blue, Snow Mountain Powder, White, and Black. Its pre-sale is now live in China, and the official sale is scheduled to begin on the 27th of September 2025 (tomorrow) at 10:00 AM local time.

Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max

The Xiaomi 17 Pro and the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max flagships have been brought out featuring 6.3″ and 6.9″ display screens respectively, and both of them sport the brand’s new Magic Back Screen. Ultra-clear selfies, dynamic notifications, and sticky notes are a few Magic Back Screen-related features given on the device.

A 50MP Leica optics professional triple camera system is also a part of the Xiaomi 17 series pro models as well, and it features Leica Optics Summilux High-Speed Lenses and a Light Hunter 950L image sensor. Other camera specs include 5x Leica periscope telephoto camera that supports 10x lossless zoom and 20x ultra zoom. LOFIC high dynamic range technology is also supported on the two smartphones.

Their other key specs include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip (3nm, all-big-core CPU architecture), low power consuming super sunlight display (M10 luminescence material, 3500 nits multi-scene peak brightness), up to 7500 mAh battery backup, and 100W wired + 50W wireless charging support.

Regarding the availability details, the pre-sale for the Xiaomi 17 Pro and the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max smartphones are also now live in China, and these will be made available for purchase tomorrow on the 27th of September 2025 at 10:00 AM local time. For the Xiaomi 17 Pro, four storage options of 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB are offered, carrying respective price tags of CNY 4999, CNY 5299, CNY 5599, and CNY 5999. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max comes only in 12GB/512GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB options with CNY 5999, CNY 6299, and CNY 6999 respective price points. Black, White, Cold Smoke Purple, and Morino Green are the available color choices.
