Xiaomi 17 Series India Launch Also Confirmed for 28th February; Amazon Availability Also Confirmed

Xiaomi had earlier confirmed the launch date for the Xiaomi 17 Series for global markets. Now, the India launch date has also been officially announced.

Here is more to it.

Xiaomi 17 Series -India Launch Confirmed

Xiaomi has now confirmed that the launch date for the Indian market will be 28th Feb at 6:30 PM IST, the same as the global launch event, but at 14:00 GMT+1 in Barcelona. However, there is no certainty at this time from Xiaomi whether the launch will be livestreamed specifically for India or if Xiaomi will hold a separate physical event in the country.

Alongside this, a microsite has gone live on Amazon India, confirming Xiaomi 17 Series launch via the platform. Further, the microsite shows the highlights of Xiaomi and Leica’s partnership, entering their fifth year. The mirosite also shows their journey from the Xiaomi 12S Ultra to the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Other than this, the banner page only confirms the launch event and does not reveal any additional specifications.

Xiaomi and Leica Partnership

In related news, Xiaomi India had teased the launch of a new device through its X handle. Initially, everyone, including us, thought that Xiaomi might be making a comeback in the Indian laptop market. But this wasnt the case, as a tipster later pointed out that the teaser could actually be for the Xiaomi Pad 8. This would mean that the Xiaomi Pad 8 could launch alongside the Xiaomi 17 Series in India.

Globally, rumours suggest that Xiaomi may introduce both the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro during the launch event, alongside the Xiaomi 17 Series. The Xiaomi 17 Series will include the Xiaomi 17 and  Xiaomi 17 Ultra, which are expected to bring the same set of specs as the varints lunched in China. Out of the two, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra (China) comes in two variants — a standard version and a Leica Edition. For India, only the standard variant has been listed on the BIS certification website so far, which indicates that the Leica Edition may not launch in India. In global markets, however, both variants have appeared on regulatory authorities such as Singapore’s IMDA, the UAE’s TDRA, and Thailand’s NBTC, which suggests their launch in these markets.

Now we just have a week before the launch, so Xiaomi will slowly release more details about both devices soon, which we will surely update you guys on once it does.
