Vivo Y500i with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, Up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM Launched in China

After previously appearing on the China Telecom listing, the Vivo Y500i has now been officially launched in its home market, China. The device is currently available for purchase via Vivo China’s official store.

Vivo Y500i Specs and Features

The Vivo Y500i arrives as the successor to the Vivo Y300i and packs a 7200mAh battery (7060mAh rated) with a single-cell design. It supports 44W wired fast charging and OTG reverse charging, though wireless charging is not supported.

Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 (4nm) octa-core processor, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X dual-channel RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The phone also supports RAM expansion via memory fusion, but does not offer microSD card support for storage expansion.

It features a 6.75″ LCD display with a 1570 × 720 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 1200 nits, along with TÜV-certified low blue light protection.

The smartphone houses a 50MP main rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 5MP front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture, with both cameras supporting 1080p video recording. The device also focuses on durability, carrying IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance and earning SGS five-star drop resistance certification.

Connectivity options on the Vivo Y500i include support for 5G, 4G, 3G, and 2G networks, dual nano-SIM, Wi-Fi with MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, and multi-system navigation such as GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS. It also supports NFC, features an infrared blaster, and uses a USB Type-C port for charging and audio output, while audio performance is handled by dual stereo speakers.

The smartphone runs on OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 and includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock for security. In terms of design, it measures 166.64 × 78.43 × 8.39mm (8.49mm for the Phoenix Gold variant) and weighs 219g.

Pricing and Availability

It is available in three colour options — Obsidian Black, Galaxy Silver, and Phoenix Gold. As for pricing in China, the 8GB + 128GB variant is priced at CNY 1,499, the 8GB + 256GB variant costs CNY 1,799, the 8GB + 512GB and 12GB + 256GB variants are both priced at CNY 1,999, while the 12GB + 512GB model is priced at CNY 2,199.
