Vivo has officially confirmed that the Vivo Y500 5G will debut in China on 1 September 2025. Ahead of the launch, the smartphone has gone live for reservations on Vivo’s official website, JD.com, Tmall, and other platforms. Alongside the launch date, the company has revealed some key specifications of the device, while a Geekbench listing has also surfaced.

Here is more to it.

Vivo Y500 5G Details Officially Confirmed and Geekbench Listing

In a teaser shared on Weibo, Vivo confirmed that the Y500 will feature a massive 8,200mAh battery, which the brand claims is its strongest battery to date. Vivo has tested the phone under extreme conditions, which reveals it can do up to 16.7 hours of video playback at -20°C and nearly 17 hours of navigation at 40°C. In simulated outdoor work mode, it reportedly retained 37% charge after 18 hours of continuous usage.

On durability, the Y500 comes with IP69+ protection and has been promoted with a 10,000kPa high-pressure water resistance rating. The phone underwent three rounds of continuous spray tests to validate this. It also survived a 1.7m six-sided drop test and 62,000 micro-drop impacts on the screen, emphasising its rugged build.

The design features a glass back with a centrally positioned circular camera deco at the top. Inside the module are four circular cutouts, housing three sensors arranged in a triangular layout, with an LED flash or Aura Light at the bottom. The colour options confirmed in the teaser include lavender, blue, and black. On the front, the device sports a punch-hole display with slim bezels, while the power button and volume rockers are positioned along the side frame.

Apart from the confirmed specs, the Vivo Y500 has also been spotted on the Geekbench database with the model number ‘V2506A’ (model number confirmed via JD.com). The listing shows a single-core score of 999 and a multi-core score of 2897. The CPU shows two clusters with 4 cores clocked at 2.0GHz and the other 4 at 2.5GHz. The source code also confirms the Mali-G615 GPU, which suggests the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC. Along with this, the listing also confirms Android 15 (version PD2506_A_15.0.7.15.W10) and 12GB of RAM.

Previously, the same model number was spotted on 3C certification, confirming support for 90W fast wired charging. At that time, the device was speculated to be the Vivo Y400+, but it is now confirmed as the Vivo Y500.

Since the launch date has now been officially confirmed, Vivo is expected to release more teasers in the coming days.
