Vivo Y500 5G with 6.77″ AMOLED display, Dimensity 7300 SoC, 8,200 mAh battery launched in China

Vivo has now launched the successor to the Vivo Y300 5G in China, called the Y500 5G. We already had a fair idea of what this smartphone would offer, as it was recently spotted on the China Telecom website.

Specs and Features of Vivo Y500 5G (V2506A)

It comes with a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, offering a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR, P3 wide color gamut support, and a 94.21% screen-to-body ratio. It has a flat-edge design with a circular dual-layer rear camera module with a matte finish. The phone is available in Glacier Blue, Dragon Crystal Powder (Purple), and Black.

The Vivo Y500 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset built on a 4nm process, paired with a Mali-G615 GPU, and runs on OriginOS 5 based on Android 15. It comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

On the rear, it houses a 50MP main sensor with autofocus and EIS support, alongside a 2MP depth sensor. While the front has an 8MP selfie shooter. Both support multiple camera modes, including night scene, portrait, slow-motion, time-lapse, underwater photography, and 4K video recording on the rear camera.

The phone is equipped with an 8200mAh single-cell battery that supports 90W fast charging and OTG reverse charging. Vivo claims that it can provide up to 31.8 days of standby time and 31.9 hours of talk time under standard testing conditions. The battery uses silicon-carbon battery technology designed to perform in extreme conditions ranging from -20°C to 40°C and is rated for long-term use of up to six years.

It is also rated IP68, IP69, and IP69+ for water and dust resistance and includes internal waterproofing and reinforced structural design. The phone has also undergone SGS-certified drop, pressure, and scratch resistance tests. Vivo claims improvements in durability with reinforced corners, micro drop testing of up to 62,000 times, steel wire scratch testing, and simulated pressure tests.

For audio, the device includes a speaker system with Hi-Res certification, 3D sound, and wind noise resistance. Connectivity options include dual SIM 5G, Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX HD and LDAC, NFC with multiple payment modes, GPS with multi-satellite positioning, and a USB Type-C port. Security features include an under-display optical fingerprint sensor and Face Wake facial recognition.
