Vivo Y21d with 6.68-inch LCD Display, Unisoc T7225 SoC and 6,500mAh Battery Launched

Vivo has now launched a new budget Y-series 4G smartphone in Nigeria called the Vivo Y21d. It looks quite similar to the recently launched Vivo Y31 5G in India.

Vivo Y21d Specs and Features

It comes in two colour options – Jade Green and Coral Red – and carries an IP68 and IP69+ rating for dust and water resistance. It runs on Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15. Powering the device is the T7225 processor built on a 12nm process, featuring an octa-core CPU with 2 × 1.8 GHz and 6 × 1.8 GHz cores. Memory configurations include 4 GB + 128 GB, 6 GB + 128 GB, and 6 GB + 256 GB, with LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. Users can also expand the RAM virtually by up to 6 GB and storage via microSD card up to 2 TB.

It features a 6.68-inch LCD display that offers a resolution of 1608 × 720 pixels, 90 Hz refresh rate, 264 PPI pixel density, 83% NTSC colour gamut, 1000 nits peak brightness (HBM), and capacitive multi-touch support. In terms of design, it has a slim quad-curved design with a composite plastic back cover, measuring 166.14 × 77.01 × 8.39 mm and weighing 209 g. Security is handled by a side-mounted capacitive fingerprint sensor.

The rear has a dual camera setup with a 50 MP primary sensor (f/1.8) and a 0.08 MP secondary sensor (f/3.0), supported by a rear flash. On the front, there is a 5 MP camera (f/2.2). Camera features include Night, Portrait, Pro, Slo-mo, Time-lapse, Panorama, Documents, 50 MP mode, Live Photo, Video, and Underwater Photography, while the front camera supports Photo, Night, Portrait, Video, and Live Photo.

The device is backed by a large 6500 mAh Li-ion battery with 44W FlashCharge support, promising 0–50% charging in about 38 minutes. Vivo claims up to 6.8 days of standby time, 21.6 hours of YouTube video playback, and 19 hours of TikTok video playback. The battery is designed to last up to 5 years with 1600 charge cycles.

Additionally, it has dual stereo speakers with up to 400% volume boost.

Sensors onboard include an accelerometer, e-compass, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor, while audio formats supported are AAC, WAV, MP3, MIDI, VORBIS, APE, and FLAC, and video formats include MP4, 3GP, AVI, FLV, MKV, WEBM, TS, and ASF.

Pricing and Availability

Its official pricing and availability are yet to be announced, but the smartphone is already listed on the Vivo Nigeria website. Meanwhile, some retailers have posted the prices for all three variants:
