Vivo Y04 and Y04e Smartphones – Announced for South Africa

The Chinese consumer electronics maker – Vivo via its Facebook handle for the South African market has announced the Y04 and Y04e smartphones, and both these devices are going to feature the same specs but with a difference in their storage + color availability. A 5500 mAh battery backup has been teased claiming up to 19 hours of playback time on YouTube, along with 5 years of battery health promise (~ 80+% battery health will be retained even after 5 years). A 90Hz smooth display, high intensity flashlight, wet hand touch technology, AI capabilities (AI Erase, AI Document, AI Photo Enhance), IP64-rated dust and water resistant protection, and an anti-drop design are also among the key specs of the Y04 and Y04e smartphone models.

As mentioned, there is only just one difference between Vivo’s Y04 and Y04e smartphones, the Jade Green color variant with 64GB internal storage is the Y04e model, whereas the Titanium Gold color variant that packs 256GB storage is the Y04 model.

Speaking more, the Amazon and Vodacom listings of the Vivo Y04e smartphone further reveals more specs such as the Android 14 OS, 4GB RAM, LCD display with 1600 x 720 pixel resolution, 13MP main camera, 5MP selfie camera, 4G network connectivity, dual SIM card slot (nano), WiFi, Bluetooth, USB type-C port, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, 167.30 mm height, 76.95 mm width, 199 gm weight, and charger + cable inside the box. It is also listed with a price tag of ZAR 1,799 (~ USD 101; INR 8886).

Just to add, the Y04 smartphone was previously also listed on the Vivo website for Egypt, and the device has appeared on the FCC, NCC, TDRA, CQC, and EEC certification platforms as well.
