Vivo S50 Series Confirmed to Feature 3D Ultrasonic Fingerprint 2.0 Sensor and IP69 + IP68 Full-Level Water Resistance

New updates concerning the upcoming Vivo S50 series have now been shared by the brand’s Product Manager – Han Boxiao. As per these newly-shared details, the next Vivo S50 series is revealed to offer enhanced security protection as well as protection against water.

Vivo S50 Series – 3D Ultrasonic Fingerprint 2.0 Sensor and IP69 + IP68 Full-Level Water Resistance Teased

Via his Weibo handle, Han Boxiao has confirmed that all the Vivo S50 series smartphones will be featuring the 2nd generation 3D ultrasonic fingerprint recognition technology. Thanks to this, three key advantages will be offered to its users: 1. Unlock the device even with wet hands, 2. Seamless unlocking experience even at night without emitting any light, and 3. Higher fingerprint scanner position for easy reaching with thumb. On top of this, many other advanced specs will also be offered for the Vivo S50 series as per Vivo’s Product Manager, and one among them is the IP69 + IP68 full-level water resistance.

Speaking more, the Vivo S50 series is scheduled to make its debut in the Chinese market next month in December 2025, and two smartphone models are expected to be unveiled: Vivo S50 and Vivo S50 Pro Mini. The Vivo S50 Pro Mini was also recently confirmed to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and offer 512GB internal storage, and both the devices will be supporting LPDDR5X (9600Mbps) RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. In related news, a possible Vivo S50 series smartphone also received the 3C certification a few days back, revealing a 90W wired fast charging support.
