TECNO CAMON 50 Ultra 5G Announced Officially with Dimensity 7400 Ultimate SoC, Achieves Highest Camera DXOMARK Score in the Under $600 Price Range
Tecno has officially announced the next model in the Camon 50 Series, which is the Tecno Camon 50 Ultra. Apart from sharing the specs, Tecno has also revealed that it has achieved a DXOMARK overall camera score of 146, the highest ever on a smartphone under $600.

TECNO CAMON 50 Ultra – Specs and Features
Starting with the display, it features a 6.78″ 3D curved AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, up to 4500 nits peak brightness, 2304Hz PWM dimming, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. Adding more to the display specs, it also includes ProXDR eye-care technology, which helps reduce eye strain during long screen viewing.
Under the hood, just as we had reported earlier, it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate SoC paired with the Mali-G615 MC2 GPU and will run on HiOS 6 based on Android 16 out of the box. Adding more to this, the memory options include 8GB/12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB/512GB internal storage based on UFS 2.2 storage. As part of this launch, Tecno will offer 50GB worth of free TECNO Cloud Storage annually for the first three years of ownership. Further, it promises 3 major OS upgrades with 5 years of security patch updates.
The rear has a primary 50MP LYT-700C sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP 3x telephoto sensor, forming a triple rear camera setup. While at the front, it has a punch-hole display housing a 13MP selfie shooter. AI 60x SuperZoom alongside Super-Zoom FlashSnap technology, Live Photo support, and a dedicated Underwater Photography mode are some of the additional features it will bring.
In terms of battery size, it houses a 6500mAh battery, which comes paired with 45W fast wired charging support. Additionally, it will come with several AI features like an upgraded Ella smart assistant, an AI Image-to-Video generator, 3D PhotoSpace, and AI LightMaster 2.0.
With IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings and MIL-STD-810 military-grade certification, it is being marketed as one of the rugged smartphones. Apart from all this, it also includes an in-display fingerprint sensor, IR sensor, stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, and dual microphones.
For pricing, we may have to wait a little, as Tecno states that pricing and availability will be announced as per respective markets. However, we were able to find its pre-order page for the Nigeria region, which reveals the colour options as Cypress Green, Nebula Titanium and Moonshadow Black. Additionally, an Orange colour option will also be available, but this was not listed on the pre-order page. As per the Pre-order page, the device can be pre-booked by paying a deposit of 1000NGN.
