Samsung Galaxy A17 4G (SM‑A175F/DSB) appears on Wi‑Fi certification, surprisingly listed with Android 14

Samsung is preparing to launch several new smartphones under its A, F, and M series. Just two days ago, the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G, with model number SM‑A176B, was spotted on the Geekbench database, revealing an Exynos 1330 SoC, Android 15, and 6GB of RAM. Now, the 4G variant has been spotted on the Wi‑Fi Alliance certification.

The device appears on the certification with the model number SM‑A175F/DSB. The “DS” in the model number indicates that this is a Dual SIM variant, while the “B” generally refers to a region‑specific build, commonly associated with markets in the Indian subcontinent and nearby Asian regions.

Interestingly, the listing shows that it will come with Android 14 out of the box. This is unexpected for a new Samsung device, and since this is an early listing and it has not appeared on the Geekbench database yet, there is still a possibility that Samsung may release the 4G variant with Android 15, as the 5G variant was already spotted running Android 15.

The listing also confirms support for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi‑Fi bands. It specifies compatibility with Wi‑Fi standards a/b/g/n/ac, along with features such as Wi‑Fi Direct and Voice‑Enterprise. Security protocols include WPA2 and WPA3 (Personal and Enterprise modes), Protected Management Frames, and Wi‑Fi Enhanced Open.

The certification further shows support for WMM® (Wi‑Fi Multimedia) features, including power saving and admission control.
