Redmi Pad 2 Pro with Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC, 12,000mAh battery and 33W fast charging launched in India

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi launched the Redmi Pad 2 Pro series globally back in September 2025 and has now introduced the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Wi-Fi and Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G variants in the Indian market. However, the Matte Display edition was not included in today’s launch. As of now, there is no official information on whether this variant will be launched in India.

Redmi Pad 2 Pro Specs and Features

The Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G features a 12.1″ 2.5K display with a 16:10 aspect ratio. It supports Dolby Vision, up to 600 nits of HBM brightness, a touch sampling rate of up to 360Hz, and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The display can show up to 1.07 billion colours and includes Hydro Touch support.

It has a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support. Xiaomi states that the sound output can be boosted by up to 300% compared to standard levels.

The tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC. According to the company, this chipset delivers up to a 45% improvement in AnTuTu scores and up to a 25% increase in overall performance compared to the previous generation.

It runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 2 and comes with 5 Major OS upgrades and 7 years of security updates. It supports features that allow better integration between a Xiaomi phone and the tablet. These include Home Screen+, which lets users open and use phone apps on the tablet, Call Sync for answering phone calls directly on the tablet, Shared Clipboard for copying and pasting text, links, and images between devices, and Network Sync, which allows the tablet to connect automatically to the phone’s hotspot when Wi-Fi is unavailable. The tablet also supports Circle to Search with Google and Gemini AI for on-screen search and assistance.

In terms of design, the tablet has a metal unibody build. It measures 7.5mm in thickness and weighs around 610 grams. Despite the slim profile, it includes a 12,000mAh battery. The Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G is available in Graphite Gray and Quick Silver colour options.

It comes equipped with a 12,000mAh (typical) battery and supports 33W fast wired charging. Xiaomi claims the tablet can deliver up to 16.04 hours of reading, up to 14.24 hours of video playback, or up to 11.8 days of general usage under test conditions. It is also rated for up to 105.36 hours of music playback or up to 83.05 days of standby time, based on internal testing.

The tablet supports 27W Type-C to Type-C reverse charging, allowing it to charge other devices such as smartphones, earbuds, and smartwatches using a single cable. Actual battery life and charging performance may vary depending on usage and conditions.

Pricing and Availability

Both the Wi-Fi and 5G variants are available in two colour options of Graphite Grey and Quick Silver. The Wi-Fi-only variant comes in a single 8GB + 128GB configuration, priced at ₹24,999. The 5G variant is available in two memory options, with the 8GB + 128GB model priced at ₹27,999 and the 8GB + 256GB model priced at ₹29,999. Buyers can also avail an additional discount of up to ₹2,000.

The Redmi Pad 2 Pro supports several optional accessories. These include the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Keyboard priced at ₹3,999, the Redmi Smart Pen priced at ₹3,999, and the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Cover priced at ₹1,499.

In terms of availability, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Wi-Fi and 5G variants will be available in India starting 12th January 2026 via Amazon India, Flipkart, the Redmi India website, and other major retail stores.
