Redmi 15 5G with 6.9″ FHD+ Display, Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 SoC, and 2 Major OS Upgrade Commitment Launched in India

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has launched its latest number series smartphone in the Indian market, the “Redmi 15 5G.” This model was already launched globally, and the Indian variant carries the same specifications. Alongside this, Poco has also launched the Poco M7 Plus 5G in India, which comes with identical specifications to the Redmi 15 5G but features a different design.

Redmi 15 5G specs and features

It features a 6.9-inch FHD+ display (2340 × 1080) with Adaptive Sync refresh rates of up to 144Hz, though limited to select apps. It also supports a touch sampling rate of up to 288Hz, peak brightness of 850 nits, and a pixel density of 374 PPI. To ensure eye comfort, the panel is TÜV Rheinland certified for circadian-friendly use, flicker-free performance, and low blue light emissions.

Under the hood is the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor, which combines two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.3GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 1.95GHz for balanced performance and efficiency. For storage, the smartphone is available in two configurations: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. It also supports up to 16GB RAM with virtual expansion of up to 8GB, using LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage technology.

It runs HyperOS 2 based on Android 15 and comes with a commitment of 2 years of OS upgrades and 4 years of security updates.

In terms of power, the phone packs a massive 7000mAh (typical) battery built with Si-C EV-Grade technology. It supports 33W fast charging, with a 33W charger included in the box, and also offers 18W reverse charging.

For photography, it comes with a 50MP AI main rear camera with an f/1.75 aperture and an unknown secondary lens, supported by features such as AI Sky, AI Erase, and Classic Film Filters. On the front, there is an 8MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calls.

The Redmi 15 5G offers durability with an IP64 rating against dust and water splashes. It has dimensions of 168.48 × 80.45 × 8.40 mm, weighs 217g, and comes with a plastic back panel featuring an aerospace-grade metal camera deco.

Audio is powered by a bottom-firing loudspeaker certified by Dolby, with support for 200% super volume for an enhanced media experience. Additional sensors include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IR blaster, ambient light sensor, virtual proximity sensor, e-compass, and accelerometer.

Pricing and Availability

The Redmi 15 5G has two memory options, 8GB + 256GB priced at ₹16,999 and 6GB + 128GB priced at ₹14,999. Open sales are set to begin on 28th August 2025, and will be sold via Amazon India, Xiaomi India’s official website, and other major retailers. It is offered in three colour options: Midnight Black, Frosted White, and Sandy Purple.
