Redmi 15 5G officially confirmed to launch on August 19th in India with Snapdragon 6s Gen 3

Redmi has been teasing its next smartphone for the Indian market with the “mAhA” branding, hinting at a big battery. While the name wasn’t confirmed earlier, rumours suggested it could be the Redmi 15 5G, and that’s now official. A new teaser released today confirms that the upcoming phone is indeed the Redmi 15 5G. The teaser also explains the “mAhA” branding and reveals that the phone will launch on August 19, 2025. It will be available through Amazon India, the Xiaomi India website, and other major retailers. The official microsites are now live on both platforms, revealing some of the key specifications.

It is going to come equipped with a 7000mAh battery, which the company claims is the largest in its segment. will also have 18W reverse charging support, allowing it to function as a power bank. Redmi 15 5G uses Silicon-Carbon battery technology, again noted as a first in its segment, which contributes to extended battery life. According to the company, the battery retains up to 80% of its capacity even after four years and delivers double the lifespan compared to standard batteries. Additionally, the phone can last up to 13.5 hours on standby with just 1% charge using a dedicated hibernation mode.
Despite the large battery, the phone is said to be the slimmest 7000mAh smartphone available. It features a “Royale Chrome Design” with an aerospace-grade metal island and will be available in three colour options: Midnight Black, Frosted White, and Sandy Purple.

It is listed to have a 6.9-inch (17.53cm) display, again claimed as the largest in its segment, with up to a 144Hz refresh rate (subject to limited app usage) and an eye-friendly panel.
Under the hood is the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, paired with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2. The phone also includes AI features such as Circle to Search and Gemini integration. The rear will house a 50MP dual AI camera setup. In terms of usage, the phone is claimed to deliver 55.6 hours of Spotify playback, 23.5 hours of YouTube streaming, 17.5 hours on Instagram Reels, and up to 12.75 hours of gameplay in BGMI.
