Just recently, the retail box unit of the upcoming Realme 16 5G smartphone was leaked online, and the tipster who shared it via X had claimed that the device would be launching in the second week of April 2026 in the Indian market. Now, this is no longer just a rumour, as the official microsite for the Realme 16 5G has gone live on Flipkart.

Realme 16 5G – India Launch Teased
The Flipkart microsite reveals that Realme is positioning its upcoming smartphone as “India’s first selfie-mirror phone,” and it highlights a unique rear camera module that features a dedicated mirror inside it. As per what is suggested, this will enable users to capture “rear selfies” more effectively, especially group shots, by following three simple steps – twisting the device, framing the shot using the rear camera, and capturing wider portraits.
Additionally, the microsite also mentions an “Air Design”, which is claimed to offer a lightweight build along with a gleaming finish. As of now, only the white colour option has been teased, which is called the “White Swan” variant in the global market. This colour option is revealed to feature a colour-shifting blue-to-purple gradient finish that changes based on lighting conditions.
Speaking more, the Realme 16 5G smartphone had previously appeared on the BIS certification platform with the model number “RMX5171”, which had already hinted at its imminent India launch. Further, the recently leaked retail box unit had also revealed a few of its key specifications.
As per the leaked details, the device is said to be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400 Turbo processor and will feature a 50MP Sony IMX852 rear camera sensor along with a 50MP front-facing selfie shooter. It is also expected to sport a 120Hz AMOLED display supporting up to 4200 nits peak brightness, and a 7000 mAh “Titan” battery. Other revealed specs include IP69-rated water and dust resistance, support for multiple 5G bands (n1 / n3 / n5 / n8 / n28B / n40 / n41 / n77 / n78), and an 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option.
Also, an “Air Black” colour variant has been mentioned via the retail box unit. When compared with the global version of the smartphone, the specifications appear to be identical, along with the overall design that has now been teased officially.
