Poco’s Next Smartphone for India Confirmed to Pack 7,000mAh Battery, to Launch Under ₹15K

Poco’s upcoming smartphone microsite is already live on Flipkart, although the official moniker hasn’t been revealed yet. Several tipsters are claiming that it is a rebranded version of the Redmi 15 5G, likely to launch in India as the Poco M7 Plus 5G. The Redmi 15 5G has already debuted globally and is expected to launch in India on August 19, 2025.

In today’s teaser, Poco has officially confirmed the battery specifications of this upcoming smartphone. The updated microsite now reveals that it will come with a 7,000mAh silicon carbon technology battery. Additionally, it confirms that the phone will be priced under ₹15,000.

With this battery specification now officially revealed, and matching that of the Redmi 15 5G, it strongly suggests that the upcoming device is indeed the Poco M7 Plus 5G, although this has not been officially confirmed yet.

As per the Indian microsite listed on Xiaomi India, here is what has been revealed about the Redmi 15 5G

It will feature a 7000mAh battery, which Xiaomi claims is the largest in its segment. It will support 33W fast charging (with charger in the box) and 18W reverse charging, allowing the device to act as a power bank. It also uses Silicon-Carbon battery technology, which is said to help extend the battery lifespan, retaining up to 80% capacity after four years. A dedicated hibernation mode is mentioned, claiming up to 13.5 hours of standby with just 1% charge.

Despite the large battery, the Redmi 15 5G is said to be the slimmest 7000mAh smartphone. It will feature a 6.9-inch (17.53cm) FHD+ display with a 144Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate. The panel is listed with TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light, Flicker-Free, and Circadian Friendly certifications. Design-wise, it includes a metal camera module with what Xiaomi calls a “Royale Chrome Design” and will be available in Midnight Black, Frosted White, and Sandy Purple.

Powering the phone is the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor, paired with Xiaomi’s HyperOS based on Android 15. AI features like Circle to Search and Gemini integration are also confirmed. The rear will house a 50MP dual AI camera setup, with software features such as AI Erase and AI Sky. The microsite also lists other specifications like IP64 dust and splash resistance, Dolby-certified audio, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and 200% super volume. Xiaomi has also provided estimated usage figures, including up to 55.6 hours of Spotify playback and 12.75 hours of BGMI gaming. The company promises 2 years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates.
