POCO M8 5G Smartphone Durability and Display Features Teased: Wet Touch 2.0, IP66 Rating, 6.77″ 3D Curved Display, and More Revealed

The next POCO M8 5G smartphone will be breaking its cover in the Indian market next week and via its Flipkart landing, we have already come across a few details concerning this upcoming device. Now, its durability and display features have also been teased via Flipkart.

POCO M8 5G – Teased Durability and Display Features
As per the newly teased details, the POCO M8 5G smartphone is claimed to offer ‘durability that protects you every day’. It will be IP66 dust and water resistant, and will support the Wet Touch 2.0 technology which will enable users to operate the device with wet, greasy, and sweaty hands. The device has also passed the drop test for up to 1.7 meters, thus it will be able to survive accidental slips, flips, and free falls. Moreover, it has received the SGS MIL-STD-810 military-grade toughness certification, and therefore it won’t be troubled by heat, dust, shock, and more. Its anti-drop and scratch protection will also ensure that the glass stays scratch-free from surprise drops.
Coming to its display, it will be featuring a 6.77″ 3D curved display, which is pointed out to support 2392 x 1080 pixels resolution, 68.7 billion colors, 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut, 3200 nits peak brightness, and 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the device is also claimed to be the segment’s ‘most durable 3D curved display phone’.
Notably, apart from the Black color variant, a Bluish Green color shade has also been revealed for the upcoming device now. A 7.35mm slimmest thickness and 178gm lightest weight were also previously teased for the POCO M8 5G smartphone, and its camera module suggested that it will be sporting a 50MP AI camera system. Regarding the launch, it is scheduled to take place on the 8th of January 2026, at 12PM local time, in India. To note, it will be a re-branded version of the Redmi Note 15 5G, and 8GB RAM and up to 512GB storage can be expected.
