POCO M8 5G – Launching on 8th January 2026 in India
The POCO M8 5G smartphone will be hitting the Indian market as the segment’s slimmest and lightest smartphone, and it is scheduled to break its cover in the country on the 8th of January 2026, at 12PM local time. Speaking more, the upcoming device is claimed to be ‘ultra-slim’ with a thickness of 7.35mm, and it will have a total weight of only 178gm. Furthermore, the brand also adds that the POCO M8 5G is the ‘slimmest POCO ever’, and it will still be equipped with ‘power-packed features’.
Previously, only a glimpse of the smartphone’s design was shared, but now it has fully been unveiled. It is featured in a Black color shade, and the rear panel is revealed to have a dual-tone design (matte finish x vegan leather). A centrally-placed squircle-shaped camera module is also there at the rear, housing two camera sensors and an LED flashlight. The marking within the camera module also confirms a 50MP AI camera system for the device.
As mentioned earlier, the upcoming POCO M8 5G is believed to be a re-branded Redmi Note 15 5G (which will launch on the 6th of January 2026 in India), and it is said to offer 8GB RAM and up to 512GB internal storage. Considering its larger storage options, a higher pricing is also being expected.
