OnePlus Turbo 6 series confirmed to receive 3 OS upgrades, 4 years of security updates; OnePlus Turbo 6V more specs revealed

The OnePlus Turbo 6 series is all set to break cover on January 8th, with the launch scheduled for 7:00 PM (China local time). Ahead of the official announcement, OnePlus has revealed most of the key specs of the OnePlus Turbo 6V, along with the software update policy for the series.

From colour options to core hardware details, OnePlus has now shared more info about the upcoming Turbo 6V. According to the latest teaser, the OnePlus Turbo 6 series will ship with ColorOS 16 out of the box and has passed OPPO’s internal six-year (72-month) ageing and smoothness tests. The company has also confirmed three major Android OS upgrades and four years of security patch updates for both the OnePlus Turbo 6 and OnePlus Turbo 6V.

The OnePlus Turbo 6V is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC, built on a 4nm process, featuring an octa-core CPU clocked up to 2.7GHz. Gaming-focused enhancements include a flagship-grade six-axis gyroscope, an advanced touch control chip, and a 360-degree surround esports antenna system for improved connectivity stability. The device also comes with a 144Hz eye-care esports display and an “ice glacier” heat dissipation system designed to sustain long gaming sessions.

The smartphone packs a massive 9,000mAh glacier battery using X25 silicon-carbon anode technology, which is rated for up to five years of durability. OnePlus claims usage figures of up to 25.6 hours of short video playback, 20.3 hours of long video playback, 17.6 hours of navigation, 10.5 hours of gaming, and 9 hours of video recording at -20°C.

Charging features include 80W Super Flash Charge, 27W fast reverse charging for powering other devices, and bypass power supply support, allowing users to game while plugged in without stressing the battery.

The teaser reveals that the OnePlus Turbo 6V has passed seven military-grade tests, covering extreme temperatures, dust, rainstorms, corrosion, vibration, and drop resistance. The phone also carries IP66, IP68, and IP69K ratings, offering protection against dust as well as high-pressure and high-temperature water exposure.

The OnePlus Turbo 6V will be available in Nova White, Fearless Blue, and Solo Black colour options.
