OnePlus 15R officially confirmed to be the first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 globally

OnePlus has already confirmed earlier that the OnePlus 15R is going to launch in India and globally on 17th December 2025, along with the OnePlus Pad Go 2 and the OnePlus Watch Lite(Confirmed for Europe as of now). And OnePlus has now put an end to all rumours claiming that the 15R would be a rebranded OnePlus Ace 6 by confirming that the OnePlus 15R will come equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. This also makes it the first smartphone set to launch globally with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.

The same chipset has also been confirmed for the upcoming OnePlus Ace 6T, which was also announced today. This further suggests that the OnePlus 15R is likely a rebranded version of the Ace 6T.

The microsite, now live on both Amazon India and OnePlus India, confirms that the phone will ship with OxygenOS 16 out of the box and will offer IP66, IP68, and IP69K water and dust resistance. The teasers have also revealed two colour options: Black and Green.
