Motorola Announces Moto G17 and G17 Power with Identical Specs, but G17 Power Boasts a Larger 6,000mAh Battery and Faster 30W TurboPower Charging

Motorola has officially announced the Moto G17 and Moto G17 Power, with both smartphones carrying largely similar specifications and features, apart from differences in battery capacity and charging speeds. The standard Moto G17 has already launched across the UK, Germany, and several European markets, while the Moto G17 Power is expected to roll out soon in select parts of Europe.

Moto G17 and G17 Power – Specs and Features

Both smartphones feature a 6.72″ FHD+ LCD display with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels, a 60Hz refresh rate, and brightness reaching up to 1050 nits in High Brightness Mode. The panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, the two devices are powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme processor and run on Android 15 out of the box.

In terms of memory and storage, the Moto G17 comes with 4GB RAM along with up to 8GB RAM Boost and 128GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB via a microSD card. The Moto G17 Power offers higher configurations, featuring 8GB RAM with up to 16GB RAM Boost and 256GB internal storage, also expandable up to 1TB.

Battery capacity is one of the key differences between the two models. The Moto G17 packs a 5,200mAh battery (rated at around 5,100mAh) with support for 18W TurboPower charging. Meanwhile, the Moto G17 Power steps this up with a larger 6,000mAh battery (rated at around 5,820mAh) and faster 30W TurboPower charging.

On the camera front, both phones share the same setup. They feature a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 primary sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP front-facing camera. Users also get access to features such as Night Vision, HDR, Portrait mode, and Google Photos editing tools.

Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support are built in, alongside Bluetooth 5.4, dual-band Wi-Fi, dual SIM support, and NFC, depending on region. There’s also an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, face unlock, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Colour options include PANTONE Evening Blue, Alaskan Blue, and Bordeaux.

Pricing and Availability

As for pricing, the Moto G17 starts at £149.99 for the 4GB/128GB variant in the UK. In Germany, the 8GB/128GB model is priced at €199.99.  The device has already appeared on Motorola’s official Bulgarian website, although pricing has not yet been revealed. However, according to Android Police, it is expected to cost around €280.
