Lava Play Ultra 5G with 6.67″ FHD+ AMOLED Display, Dimensity 7300 SoC, and 64MP Sony IMX682 Camera Launched in India
This is the second smartphone launch by Lava in the month of August. The company introduced the Lava Blaze AMOLED 2 5G in the first week of August, and now it has launched the Lava Play Ultra 5G in the Indian market. The smartphone is powered by the Dimensity 6300 SoC and features a 64MP primary rear camera, along with several other specifications that I will detail in the article below.
Lava Play Ultra 5G Specs and Features
It features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ flat AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits peak brightness, and 100 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, offering a smooth and vibrant viewing experience.
Under the hood is a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset with HyperEngine technology, delivering an impressive AnTuTu score of over 7,00,000. The handset comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM along with 8GB of virtual RAM, paired with 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, while a 6GB+6GB variant is also available.
In terms of cameras, the Play Ultra 5G is equipped with a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 64MP Sony IMX682 primary sensor and a 5MP macro lens, while on the front, it houses a 13MP selfie camera. It also supports multiple photography modes, including Night Mode, HDR, Portrait, Beauty, Panorama, Pro Mode, Macro, Slow Motion, Time Lapse, AR Stickers, and Filters.
The device packs a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, which is claimed to fully charge in about 83 minutes. Lava states that the battery can provide up to 45 hours of talk time and 510 hours of standby time on a single charge. On the software side, it runs clean Android 15 with no ads or bloatware, backed by a promise of two major Android upgrades and three years of security updates.
For connectivity, the smartphone offers dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, OTG, USB Type-C, and compatibility with all Indian 5G bands. It also comes with stereo speakers for enhanced audio. The Lava Play Ultra 5G has an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance and includes both an in-display fingerprint sensor and face unlock for security.
Pricing and Availability
The Lava Play Ultra 5G will go on sale starting on 25th August at 12 PM through Amazon. It will be available in two RAM and storage variants. The 6GB with 128GB model is priced at ₹14,999 and the 8GB with 128GB model is priced at ₹16,499. As part of the exclusive launch offer, buyers can avail an instant bank discount of ₹1,000, bringing the effective launch price down to ₹13,999 for the 6GB model and ₹15,499 for the 8GB model.
The smartphone will be offered in two colour options called Arctic Slate and Arctic Frost. Lava will also provide the benefit of free service at home for added convenience.
