The India-based smartphone maker – Lava was recently revealed to bring out a new budget-oriented gaming smartphone device for customers in its home market and now, the launch date has been officially announced. It is scheduled to take place two days later and the upcoming device has been teased as ‘the OP move in gaming smartphones’.

Lava Play Ultra 5G – Launching on 20th August 2025 in India
As per what has been officially announced, the Lava Play Ultra 5G smartphone will be unveiled on the 20th of August 2025 in India, at 8:00 PM local time. This gaming-focused budget offering from Lava is believed to offer a good gaming experience to its users and from what is suggested from the X post, a larger display supporting a higher refresh rate can be expected on the upcoming device. Also, the teaser video shared reveals a display featuring a large viewing area, thin bezels with a slightly thicker chin, and a punch-hole centrally-placed selfie camera.
Speaking more, just recently the expected specs and price frame of Lava’s Play Ultra 5G was tipped online. Based on the details that were revealed, Lava is believed to equip a 120Hz flat AMOLED display panel on its gaming smartphone, and it will likely be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 processor. UFS 3.1 storage is also among its notable specs that were tipped, along with a 64MP primary shooter and 3.5mm headphone jack. In terms of its pricing, it is said to arrive in the Indian market carrying a price tag between INR 15K ~ INR 20K.
Regarding its availability, Indian customers will be able to purchase it via the Amazon shopping platform and its leaked live images pointed out Black and White color choices for the device.
