itel City 200 debuts in Uganda with a starting price of UGX 450,000

itel has launched the City 200 smartphone in Uganda. It arrives as the successor to the itel City 100 and is expected to make its way to other markets later on.

Here is more to it.

itel City 200 – Specs and Features

At the moment, the City 200 is not listed on itel’s official website. That’s unusual, but not unheard of. The details available so far come from banners and posts shared on itel’s social media handles, which confirm most of the phone’s specifications.

The itel City 200 has a 7.45mm slim unibody design with a metallic decorative finish. It is available in Bass Black, Echo Silver, Melody Pink, and Vibe Purple colours. On the front, the phone features a 6.78″ punch-hole display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Brightness is rated at up to 700 nits.

The device is backed by a 5,200mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging. For cameras, it comes with a 50MP sensor and also supports auto-zoom selfie features. itel is also highlighting durability, with the City 200 carrying an IP65 rating for splash resistance along with MIL-STD-810H certification.

Other features mentioned include 2km UltraLink free calling, DTS audio enhancement, 4.5G network support, a 48-month fluency certification, and One-Tap Easy Start. The phone also includes AI-based features, although no detailed breakdown has been shared yet.

What the promotional material does not mention is the processor or memory configuration. Earlier Google Play Console listings revealed the model number “C681L” and listed the Spreadtrum UMS9230E under the SoC section. The same chipset had appeared in similar listings for the Tecno Spark Go 3, which launched with the Unisoc T7250. That could also be the case with the itel City 200.

If so, it would mean there is no change in the processor, as the itel City 100 also used the same chipset.

Pricing and Availability

A banner posted on itel Uganda’s official X handle confirms that the City 200 starts at UGX 450,000, roughly ₹11,600.65. Memory options are not mentioned. The post does confirm availability across all itel stores in Uganda, pointing towards an offline-focused launch.
