Huawei Mate 80 Series Featuring Kirin Chips and HarmonyOS 6.0 Officially Introduced in China: Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro Max, and Mate 80 RS Master Edition Unveiled

At its recently-held launch event, the leading Chinese consumer electronics maker – Huawei officially introduced its next Mate 80 series. The Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro Max, and the Mate 80 RS Master Edition smartphone models have been unveiled.

Huawei Mate 80

The Huawei Mate 80 smartphone is powered by the Kirin 9020 Pro chip, and it runs on the HarmonyOS 6.0 operating system. In terms of memory, 12GB/16GB RAM and 256GB/512GB storage are offered. A 6.75″ OLED display screen is also a part of the device, supporting 2832 × 1280 pixels resolution and 1~120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, and it is protected with the 2nd generation Kunlun Glass.

About its cameras, at the rear the device sports a 50MP main camera, 40MP ultra-wide-angle camera, 12MP periscope telephoto camera, and a 2nd generation red maple original color camera. A 13MP front-facing camera, along with a 3D depth sensing camera, is offered for selfies. Within the device, a 5750 mAh battery is also packed, supporting 66W wired + 50W wireless + 5W reverse wired + reverse wireless charging.

Four color variants are available, and Chinese customers can get it in Spruce Green, Dawn Gold, Snow White, and Obsidian Black.

Huawei Mate 80 Pro

Huawei’s Mate 80 Pro uses the Kirin 9030 (for 12GB RAM)/Kirin 9030 Pro (for 16GB RAM) chips, and comes with the same HarmonyOS 6.0 out of the box. 12GB/16GB RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB storage are its available memory options. For its display, a 6.75″ OLED display is featured, with 2832 x 1280 pixels resolution, 1~120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, and 2nd generation Kunlun Glass.

At the rear, it offers a 50MP main camera, 40MP ultra-wide-angle camera, 48MP telephoto macro camera, and a 2nd generation red maple original color camera. For selfies, a 13MP front-facing camera + 3D depth sensing camera system combination is also being offered. It packs a 5750 mAh battery backup, and offers 100W wired + 80W wireless + 18W reverse wired + reverse wireless charging.

Dawn Gold, Spruce Green, Snow White, and Obsidian Black are its available color options.

Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max

About the new Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max, it is equipped with the Kirin 9030 Pro chipset, and is pre-installed with the HarmonyOS 6.0 operating system. 16GB RAM and 512GB/1TB storage are its memory options. On the display side, it features a dual-layer OLED display with a screen size of 6.9″, and supports 2848 x 1320 pixels resolution, 1~120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, and 2nd generation Kunlun Glass protection.

50MP main camera, 40MP ultra-wide-angle camera, 50MP telephoto macro camera, and 50MP telephoto camera are given at the rear, along with a 2nd generation red maple original color camera. There is also a 13MP front-facing camera as well as a 3D depth sensing camera for selfies. Within the device, there is a 6000 mAh battery, which supports 100W wired + 80W wireless + 18W reverse wired + reverse wireless charging capabilities.

Its available color choices include The Polar Day is Gold, The Aurora is Blue, The Polar Region is Silver, and The Polar Night is Black.

Huawei Mate 80 RS Master Edition

Finally, about the Huawei Mate 80 RS Master Edition, it is also powered by the brand’s own Kirin 9030 Pro processor, and runs on the HarmonyOS 6.0 operating system. 20GB of RAM and 512GB/1TB of storage are available as its memory options. The dual-layer OLED display is given on the Mate 80 RS Master Edition as well, and its screen size is again 6.9″. 2848 × 1320 pixels resolution and 1~120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate are also supported, and the display is protected with the 3rd generation Basalt Tempered Kunlun Glass.

Coming to the cameras, at the rear, 50MP main camera, 40MP ultra-wide-angle camera, 50MP telephoto macro camera, 50MP telephoto camera, and 2nd generation red maple original color camera are given. The 13MP front-facing camera + 3D depth sensing camera combination is also offered on the device for selfies. Again, the large 6000 mAh battery, as well as the 100W wired + 80W wireless + 18W reverse wired + reverse wireless charging capabilities are featured on this device too.

Regarding the colors, customers will be able to get it in Hibiscus Purple, Pure White, and Jet black.

Pricing Details

The standard Huawei Mate 80 smartphone is priced at CNY 4699, CNY 5199, and CNY 5499 for the 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, and the 16GB/512GB storage models. On the other hand, Huawei’s Mate 80 Pro device which will be available in 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, 16GB/512GB storage options carry price tags of CNY 5999, CNY 6499, and CNY 6999.

Only two storage options of 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB are offered for the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max, and these have respective price points of CNY 7999 and CNY 8999. The Huawei Mate 80 RS Master Edition is being offered with 20GB/512GB and 20GB/1TB storage options, which are respectively priced at CNY 11999 and CNY 12999.
