Honor 500 Series Pre-Booking Opens in China as New Teaser Reveals Colour Options and 200MP Portrait Camera

Honor has officially confirmed the upcoming launch of the Honor 500 Series in its home market, following the release of its first teaser a few days ago. The company has now opened pre-bookings in China, and alongside this announcement, it has shared a new teaser video showcasing the design and colour options of both the Honor 500 and Honor 500 Pro.

Both the Honor 500 and Honor 500 Pro will be available in Aquamarine, Starlight Pink, Obsidian Black, and Moonlight Silver colour options. In terms of design, both models feature a horizontal pill-shaped camera module with two large circular camera cutouts. However, the Pro variant includes a third circular cutout that houses two sensors placed one above the other, with the LED flash positioned between the pair and the third cutout. In contrast, the Honor 500 has a third camera sensor and an LED flash placed vertically next to the two main circular cutouts, but these are not enclosed within any additional cutout. The official poster also hints at a “200-megapixel all-scenario live portrait” camera (translated from Chinese), suggesting that the Honor 500 Series may feature a 200MP portrait camera.

Additionally, two new Honor smartphones were recently spotted on the 3C certification website with 80W fast wired charging support, and both are believed to be part of the Honor 500 Series.
