HMD Vibe 5G Launching Soon in India with 50MP AI Rear Camera

HMD is planning to launch a new 5G smartphone in the Indian market called the HMD Vibe 5G. HMD has released its first teaser via its official X account. Along with this, its banner is also up on the HMD India website, which confirms the rear design and colour options.

Here is what has been revealed

The teaser also reveals the rear design of the smartphone, showing a 50MP AI main camera and a secondary lens inside a rectangular camera deco with rounded edges. The cameras are vertically aligned, with the main 50MP sensor on top and the secondary lens below in a circular cutout. Next to the cameras is an LED flash. A standout feature is the presence of two illuminated lines integrated into the camera deco; one on the top left corner and another on the bottom right corner. These lights extend slightly sideways, hinting at glyph-style lighting, similar to what we’ve seen in other smartphones recently.

Apart from the camera details, the teaser also reveals the two colour options of purple and black. Since this is the first teaser, it is still unknown whether it will launch via Flipkart or Amazon India, or simply be sold exclusively via the HMD India website/ offline market.

Also, in an interview a few weeks back with the Financial Express, Ravi Kunwar, VP and CEO, HMD India, APAC, Australia and New Zealand, confirmed that they will soon be launching a sub-₹10,000 5G smartphone in India and will likely launch it during the festive season. Though not anywhere in the interview did he mention it is HMD Vibe 5G, as the new teaser is out with the moniker itself, it is indeed HMD Vibe 5G.
