Amazon has expanded the Kindle lineup and introduced two new Colorsoft devices: a 16 GB Kindle Colorsoft and the Kindle Colorsoft Kids, designed specifically for children. These new devices aim to bring color reading to more users with features for both adults and kids.

The Kindle Colorsoft 16 GB offers a high-contrast color display, adjustable warm light, fast page turns, and weeks-long battery life. It supports highlights in multiple colors and has a “Page Color” mode that inverts page backgrounds for comfortable night reading. The Kindle Colorsoft Kids edition targets children. It includes a kid-friendly illustrated cover, a one-year subscription to Amazon Kids+ (after the subscription ends, it will cost $5.99), and a two-year free guarantee.

The Kindle Colorsoft (16GB) features a 7-inch glare-free display. It displays 300ppi in black and white and 150ppi in color. It includes warm light, dark mode, and four highlight colors. The battery lasts up to eight weeks. It includes 16GB of storage, is waterproof (IPX8), and charges via USB-C. It enables zoom and includes three months of Kindle Unlimited. There is no wireless charging or automatic light. It supports Kindle books and comics.
The Kindle Colorsoft Kids uses the same display. It comes with a cover and one year of Amazon Kids+. It carries a two-year warranty. Tools include Vocabulary Builder, Word Wise, and the OpenDyslexic typeface. Parents have the ability to impose restrictions. It supports Bluetooth.
There are no advertisements, applications, or videos. The battery lasts eight weeks, as per Amazon. It comes with IPX8-rated protection and also supports comics. It comes with two colorful cover designs, Fantasy River and Starlight Reading, and complements an expanded Amazon Kids+ library, which features popular graphic novels and chapter books.
