After Realme, iQOO Officially Confirms Launch of iQOO 15 in India with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Just a few hours after Realme India confirmed the launch of the Realme GT 8 Pro as India’s first smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, iQOO has also officially announced that it will be bringing the iQOO 15 to the Indian market with the same flagship chipset.
In its announcement, iQOO teased that the upcoming device will deliver “GOAT performance”, though it stopped short of revealing any other major details. The teaser poster shared on iQOO India’s official X account does not mention a launch timeline. However, based on rumours and past trends, the iQOO 15 is expected to launch in late November or early December, considering its predecessor, the iQOO 13, was launched in India on 3rd December 2024.

So far, iQOO has confirmed some key specifications of the upcoming iQOO 15, which is set to debut in China next month. However, an exact launch date for the Chinese market is yet to be announced. As per official teasers, the iQOO 15 will feature a 6.85-inch 2K Samsung Everest Display, which combines 2K E6 OLED technology with the world’s first M14 luminescent material. The panel is said to deliver up to 6000 nits local peak brightness and 2600 nits full-screen brightness, along with a 144Hz refresh rate, 3200Hz instant touch sampling rate, and 8T LTPO technology. iQOO also highlights ultra-low motion blur, triple TÜV certifications (flicker-free, polarizer-free, and gaming eye protection), as well as support for Eye Comfort 2.0 and 1 nit ultra-dim sleep mode.
In terms of availability, the iQOO 15 will first launch in China, followed by India. The global variant is expected to share similar specifications with the Chinese model. That said, many Indian users will be hoping for parity in battery capacity this time. For context, the iQOO 13 launched with a 6150mAh battery in China but was downgraded to 6000mAh in India.
Vivo and iQOO have officially confirmed that OriginOS, which until now has been limited to China, will be coming to global markets and will replace FuntouchOS. The company has also confirmed that OriginOS 6, based on Android 16, will be the version rolling out globally. However, several rumours suggest that the global version will not be an exact replica of the Chinese OriginOS. Instead, it is expected to bring select features from the Chinese version while leaving out others. As for its availability, OriginOS 6 is expected to debut globally alongside the iQOO 15 or the Vivo X300 series.
