Lenovo’s latest Legion Go Gen 2 (8.8″) handheld gaming console has now been officially announced, and its debut took place at the recently-commenced IFA Berlin 2025 event. The second generation gaming device comes with a design similar to its predecessor, but equips a new processor, a larger battery, and many more.

Legion Go Gen 2 (8.8″) – Officially Announced and Coming Soon to Global Markets

The newly-announced Legion Go Gen 2 (8.8″) gaming device is powered by AMD’s Ryzen Z2/Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor and it is integrated with the Radeon 890M GPU. As indicated by its moniker, an 8.8″ OLED display screen (Lenovo PureSight) is featured on it, supporting 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution and 144Hz refresh rate (30Hz ~ 144Hz VRR). Notably, this display is HDR TrueBlack 1000-certified and will be able to deliver a brightness of 500 nits. As mentioned above, a larger battery backup has also been given on the latest generation gaming device, and from the 49.2Whr battery, Lenovo is now offering a 74Whr battery inside it, supporting 65W charging.

Other added specs include its ergonomic body design, detachable Legion TrueStrike controllers (with multiple gaming modes), WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, power button cum fingerprint scanner, 2W speakers, dual microphones, 3.5mm headphone jack, dual USB 4 ports (supports Power Delivery 4.0), and 1079 gm total weight (heavier than before). Also, on the storage side, up to 32GB RAM and up to 2TB storage can be expected, along with a memory card slot for storage expansion.

About its availability details, it is said to be made available soon in select global markets for purchase at a starting price of USD 1099/EUR 999. Reportedly (as per The Verge), four variants can be expected: AMD Ryzen Z2 + 16GB RAM + 1TB storage, AMD Ryzen Z2 + 32GB RAM + 1TB storage, AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme + 32GB RAM + 1TB storage, and AMD Ryzen Z2 + 32GB RAM + 2TB storage.
