The recently unveiled Google Pixel 6a at Google I/O is a significant upgrade over the device it replaces. It is the less expensive sister of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro from a year ago, giving some of the same features but maintaining the affordability of the Pixel 5a by lowering the display and primary camera specifications.

A Google Tensor chip and Google’s superior photography software give it a strong opportunity to separate from our list of the best inexpensive phones. Google will face fierce competition when it debuts products like the OnePlus Nord 2, Samsung Galaxy A53, and iPhone SE (2022).
