Redmi Buds 8 Lite with Up to 42dB ANC, 12.4mm Driver Launched in Australia

Xiaomi’s sub-brand has now launched a new TWS in the Australian market, dubbed Redmi Buds 8 Lite. Notably, the earbuds have also debuted in several other markets alongside Australia.

Here is more to it.

Redmi Buds 8 Lite Specs and Features

The Redmi Buds 8 Lite offer hybrid Active Noise Cancellation up to 42dB using integrated microphones for low-frequency noise reduction, alongside dual-mic AI ENC and dual-channel AI noise suppression for clearer voice quality during calls, meetings, and streaming. They also feature wind-noise reduction up to 6m/s with a T-shaped wind-noise structure and intelligent wind detection.

It features a 12.4mm titanium-diaphragm dynamic driver with a large diaphragm and titanium-coated interior, tuned for deep bass, warm mids, and crisp highs, with support for SBC and AAC codecs and compatibility with Android and iOS. Sound can be customised via adjustable EQ, five preset modes (Standard, Enhance treble, Enhance bass, Enhance voice, and Volume boost), plus a custom EQ curve.

The earbuds come with Bluetooth 5.4 for more stable connections, reduced interference, and improved multi-device switching, dual-device connectivity, automatic device switching, Google Fast Pair, and one-tap fast pairing on Android. The earbuds work with the Xiaomi Earbuds app, which supports ANC adjustment, EQ tuning, touch gesture customisation, and firmware updates, requiring Android 6.0+ (app version 12.9.0+) or iOS 14.0+ (app version 1.21.0+).

Battery life is rated at up to 8 hours on a single charge and up to 36 hours with the case, claiming a 14.2% improvement over Redmi Buds 6 Lite (earbuds only), with fast charging enabling up to 2 hours of playback from a 10-minute charge when the case battery is at least 20%. Each earbud packs a 45mAh battery, the case houses a 475mAh battery, and charging is done via USB Type-C.

They carry an IP54 rating (earbuds only) for protection against sweat, splashes, and dust, but are not suitable for bathing or shower use. The design features an ergonomic in-ear shape to reduce ear pressure for long-term comfort, with S/M/L silicone ear tips included. Controls are managed via smart touch gestures by default (double tap for play/pause and answer/end calls, triple tap to skip tracks, and long press for noise control), all customisable through the app or Bluetooth settings on Xiaomi phones.

Pricing and Availability

The Redmi Buds 8 Lite have launched in three colour options of Blue, White, and Black. They are currently available for purchase via the Xiaomi Australia website, priced at AUD 32.5.
