Xiaomi has announced the Redmi Buds 8 Active (Vitality Edition) earbuds in its home market, China, with the tagline “Rich sound quality with long-lasting battery life.”

With a 14.2mm large dynamic driver featuring a titanium-plated diaphragm and support for the AAC audio codec, you can expect better sound quality. Along with this, Xiaomi claims that the earbuds can reduce wind noise for speeds up to 6 m/s, and with dual-microphone AI call noise reduction, it intends to improve call quality.

Looking at the design, the earbuds offer a similar semi-in-ear design compared to the recently launched Redmi Buds 8 Lite (launched globally).

In terms of battery life, the earbuds with a 37mAh battery each are rated to provide up to 7 hours of playback on a single charge, while the charging case with a 475mAh battery extends the total usage time to up to 37 hours.

Connectivity-wise, these earbuds come equipped with Bluetooth 5.4, and with IP54 ratings, these earbuds are protected against dust ingress and water splashes from any angle.

Additionally, the Redmi Buds 8 Active (Vitality Edition) support Xiaomi HyperOS Connect, which enables features such as smart device search, dual-device connection, audio sharing, and quick pairing pop-ups when used with compatible Xiaomi devices. These earbuds also come with Xiaomi Earbuds app compatibility as well.
