Nothing Ear (3) Charging Case to Feature Built-in Supermic

Nothing is set to unveil the Nothing Ear (3) on September 18, and the company has been steadily teasing its upcoming earbuds. The second teaser already gave us a look at the design and highlighted the much-discussed TALK button on the charging case.

Now, Nothing has revealed another key detail. In its latest teaser, the brand confirmed that the Ear (3) charging case will feature a built-in microphone, which it’s calling the “Supermic.” According to Nothing, this microphone is designed to focus on the user’s voice while cutting through background noise, promising clearer calls.

This also gives us a better idea of what the TALK button will do; it will let users pick up calls directly from the case. Earlier, the teaser had also revealed a speaker on the charging case, which means you’ll not only be able to talk but also hear from the case itself. While this is just one confirmed use, it’s likely the TALK button will offer more functions as well.

From earlier teasers, the earbuds are expected to carry the model number B160, a nod to the Pokémon Feraligatr, whose National Pokédex number is 160. Beyond this, the device has not yet appeared in any certifications, so most specifications remain unclear. However, some rumours hint that Nothing may collaborate with KEF for audio tuning.
