Amazon first launched the Echo Show 5 (3rd Gen) in the U.S. in May 2023, and nearly two years later, the device has now arrived in the Indian market.

It features a 5.5-inch screen, a built-in camera, and updated hardware compared to the second-generation model. Amazon has redesigned the device with rounded edges and an infinity-style glass cover, while the user interface supports comfortable use across various lighting conditions. Users can view weather updates, check calendars and to-do lists, and control compatible smart home devices using Alexa voice commands or the touchscreen.
Amazon has equipped the Echo Show 5 (3rd Gen) with a 1.7-inch rear-facing speaker that delivers stronger bass and clearer vocals than its predecessor. Users can stream content from Amazon Prime Video, Spotify, Apple Music, JioSaavn, and Audible, or access video content through the built-in browser. The built-in camera enables users to monitor their home remotely through the Drop In feature and pair the device with security cameras and video doorbells. They can also make video calls to contacts with other Echo devices or the Alexa app.
The device runs on the AZ2 Neural Edge processor and includes an improved microphone array for better voice recognition. Users can ask Alexa to set reminders, create shopping lists, or control smart appliances with simple voice commands. Amazon also includes multiple privacy controls, such as a camera shutter, a microphone on/off button, and the ability to manage voice recordings through the Alexa app.
