With many impactful performances over the years, Australian opener David Warner has become a top attraction in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Recently, the seasoned campaigner talked about how he’s improved his game while playing in the lucrative league.
Warner called the IPL the ‘best tournament in the world’ during a conversation with former Australian pacer Brett Lee. During Australia’s tour of India, he uses experience he gained during competitions.
On ‘The Brett Lee podcast’, Warner said:
“When I go to India, I see it as playing the best tournament in the world. But I am getting a lot of practice and insight for when I have to go there for Australia, whether it is for Tests or ODIs.”
As a veteran of the IPL, Warner has played in every season since the tournament’s inception. He is the fifth-highest run-scorer in the competition with 5449 runs from 150 matches.
The 35-year-old has 50 half-centuries in the IPL, the most of any player in the league’s history.
David Warner also spoke about how Indian fans welcomed him with open arms. He pointed out that he enjoys catching up with the locals whenever he tours to India.
It has been overwhelming for the southpaw to receive support from Indians. Moreover, Warner said he would like to be a part of the future development of the game in India.
