‘Modi Govt has buckled on G20 meet’, says Subramanian Swamy on Twitter

On Thursday, China opposed India’s plan to hold the G20 meeting of 20 leaders in Jammu and Kashmir.

Former Rajya Sabha member, Subramanian Swamy takes on Twitter to appreciate the Modi government for finally holding the G20 meet in Delhi.

He tweeted that it was earlier declared in Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, but the Modi government had to back down because of China and Pakistan. They have finally decided to hold the event in Delhi, perhaps in Pragati Maidan.

“Modi Govt has buckled on G20 Meet. It was earlier announced that it will be held in Srinagar in J&K. Then China growled and Pakistan went yap yap. Modi Govt then chickened and has now decided to hold G20 meet in Delhi— May be Pragati Maidan. 54“ chest !!”, Swamy tweeted.

On Thursday, China opposed India’s plan to hold the G20 meeting of 20 leaders in Jammu and Kashmir, echoed by close ally Pakistan’s objection, emphasizing that relevant sides should avoid politicizing the issue.

According to the Hindu, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Zhao Lijian said, “China’s position on Kashmir is consistent and clear cut. It is a legacy issue between India and Pakistan. It should be properly resolved in accordance with the relevant U.N. resolutions and bilateral agreements.”
