Maldives breaks its silence on controversial comments against Prophet!

The Government of Maldives criticizes the comments made against Prophet Muhammed by the two leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in India.

Consequently, Nupur Sharma was suspended from the party because she made a controversial comment about Prophet during a TV debate. Several Arab countries were offensive against the India over this controversial statements. They criticized the BJP’s spokesperson Nupur Sharma. However, the ruling Maldivian Democratic Party, avoided to comment on this issue.

Accordingly, the Maldivian Home Minister Imran Abdulla stated that it is not his duty to say about the government’s views on insults against Prophet Muhammad. But now, the Maldivian said that it was really depressing that other Muslim-majority countries registered complaints and they remained silent. However, the Maldivian Government has accepted and welcomed the denouncement made by the Government of India. Also the Maldives respected the decision taken by the BJP party to suspend Nupur Sharma.
