Watch Mary Millben, an American actress, sings the Indian National Anthem to wish people a happy Independence Day

On the occasion of the country’s 74th Independence Day, Mary Millben, a notable African-American Hollywood actress and singer, greeted Indians and joined the virtual global celebration with a lyrical rendition of the National Anthem.

“Today is India’s Independence Day, a significant day for Indian-Americans and Indians around the world. As you celebrate India’s 74th Independence Day, I’d like to extend my best wishes to President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu, and everyone of India “Millben said.

For the 2020 Nudge Forum, Millben, 38, a Helen Hayes Award nominee, provided virtual entertainment performing India’s National Anthem (global edition).

The inaugural forum is a nonstop 24-hour worldwide platform that brings together international leaders and stakeholders in support of India’s development and to commemorate India’s Independence Day.

“We may not be able to celebrate together today, but our hearts may digitally unite in the spirit of liberty. The world’s two largest democracies, America and India, both cherish freedom “Millben has been learning Hindi and preparing for the National Anthem from an Indian teacher for the past few months.

“I have found India to be a hospitable demographic for global enterprise as an American small business owner,” she said.

Millben claims that her study of Hindi has given her a profound attachment for India.

“As an actress/singer in Hollywood, thanks to my beloved Hindi coach Dr Moxraj, First Cultural Diplomat and Teacher of Indian Culture at the Embassy of India in Washington, DC, I have grown a deep affection for India through my study of Hindi, my deep immersion into India’s culture, music, and cinema, and so much more,” Millben said.

Millben has appeared in the White House, the United States Congress, and other venues for three successive US presidents: George W Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump.
