Meanwhile, the Money Heist star Pedro Alonso at the global fan event at the Palacio Vistalegre in Madrid announced the arrival of a spin-off original series which will bring the loved character Berlin in the center of the show.
Berlin is the undercover name for the character named Andrés de Fonollosa in Money Heist who is the elder brother of Sergio aka The Professor, played by actor Alvaro Morte. He is the second-in-command of the robbery of the Heist. He is a great charm for the fans because of his leadership skills and dedication to keep the gang together.
But he loses his life after the first Heist as he puts himself in the line of fire to protect his fellow gang members from the cops. But because of his popularity, the makers brought him back in the later seasons in the flashbacks of characters. The epic love story of the iconic sociopath and his marriage to Tatiana, and the introduction of his son Rafael anticipated fans which encouraged Netflix to introduce an epic spin-off featuring him.
In the event declaring the spin-off, Alonso said, “It is a memorable moment because it is the end of one cycle and the beginning of another.” He further added, “Today I was talking to Jesús Colmenar and we were saying that now we walk into the unknown, open to whatever happens and without expectations. […] I know that [the Money Heist writers] will give the series every possible twist and turn. The responsibility [of spinning off such a popular series] can be a burden and a prison. I hope we continue to have the courage to use this wonderful energy to risk everything again.”
The much-awaited Money Heist season 5 part 2 will release on December 3, 2021 and the spin-off will be released in 2023 on Netflix.
