Katie Thurston and John Hersey, stars of the Bachelorette Saying Goodbye: “No We Aren’t Together”
“We are no longer dating, the decision was not made lightly and it was obviously not an easy one to make.” John Hersey and Katie Thurston are no longer together.
Thurston and Jersey, who had first connected during Katie’s “Bachelorette” season 15 months prior, announced their split on Instagram.
Despite the fact that the couple’s relationship didn’t begin during the series, it developed after the shooting was over.
The reality TV stars made their breakup official through individual Instagram Story postings, with Katie simply writing, “Statement: no we aren’t together.”
As opposed to Katie, John had more to say: “As Katie stated earlier, we are no longer dating, the decision was not made lightly and it was obviously not an easy one to make.”
“I love being able to share special moments with you all — the funny ones. The happy ones. The outrageous, embarrassing, and heartfelt ones. But I don’t know if it will ever get easier to share the sad ones,” he went on. “I appreciate every one of you that has supported us throughout this journey. We could not (and would not) be here without you.”
The couple announced their separation in October of the same year that Thurston made her season 17 debut as the Bachelorette. Thurston completed her television run with an engagement to Blake Moynes.
Despite the pilot-in-training being ousted in the second week of her season, People Magazine reports that Katie and John started dating a month later.
In November 2021, a spokeswoman for Katie stated, “It’s known Katie and John became close friends post-season.” “John has been there for her through all the major changes in her life and they are excited to explore this newly found romantic connection.”
Thurston and Hersey shared an emotional Instagram photo to mark the one-year anniversary of their March meeting.
“A year ago I’d never believe I would be right here in these moments with you,” she wrote with a picture of the former couple sharing a tender glance.
She made fun of their sudden romance at the time, saying, “Sorry to all the bachelor brackets we f—ed up.” “We owe you one .”
