Farmers in Punjab briefly stopped Kangana Ranaut’s car, seeking an apology

Farmers protesting the farm rules have been referred to as terrorists, Khalistanis, and "anti-social elements" by Kangana Ranaut.

Protesters in Punjab’s Kiratpur Sahib stopped Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut’s car on Friday, demanding an apology for her comments against farmers who had been protesting against the center’s controversial farm rules, which were finally abolished this week.
Ms. Ranaut, a staunch supporter of the ruling BJP, had thrown her support behind the regulations, regularly referring to the tens of thousands of farmers who had been camped out on Delhi’s outskirts for over a year as terrorists, Khalistanis, and “anti-social elements.”

Ms. Ranaut’s car was stopped by demonstrators waving flags and screaming slogans as she drove through the neighborhood with her security detail on Friday.

“I’ve been besieged by a horde of people here. They have been abusing me and have threatened to murder me “In a video posted to her Instagram Stories, she alleged.

“This is public lynching by a mob. What happens if I’m not accompanied by security? It’s impossible to believe what’s going on here. Is it true that I’m a politician? What is the nature of this behavior?” Ms. Ranaut expressed herself.

After the actor spoke with a few female demonstrators, a truce was established, and she was able to depart the area.

Ms. Ranaut told the farmers that the most venomous of her rants were directed at demonstrators in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh last year who were protesting the center’s controversial citizenship law, which has been criticized for discriminating against Muslims.

Her clarification, on the other hand, appeared to contradict her words from only last week, when she called opponents of the farm legislation “Khalistani terrorists” in another Instagram Story.

“Terrorists from Khalistan may be putting pressure on the administration right now. But don’t forget about one woman. The only woman prime minister ne inn ko apni jooti ke niche crush kia tha (The only woman prime minister crushed them under her shoe) No matter how much suffering she caused, she squashed them like mosquitoes at the risk of her own life. Even decades after her death, aaj bhi uske naam se kaampte hai yeh inko vaisa he guru chahiye (they still tremble at her name, they need a teacher like her), “she stated
